“Analysis of TCR-repertoire dynamics of gd T cells and FoxP3+ regulatory T cells in the course of microbial infections”
Recently, we have established a method that allows us to simultaneously analyze 10,000 to 100,000 individual TCR rearrangements using the novel 454 high-throughput sequencing technology. With this tool we can monitor a new dimension of host-pathogen dynamics, i.e. we can track changes in the TCR repertoire of responding T cells on a molecular level. In this project, we will monitor the dynamics of TCR repertoires of gd T cells and FoxP3+ regulatory T cells in the course of microbial infections. Also, we will investigate the impact of TCR repertoire diversity on the homeostasis and pathogenic potential of infectious and commensal microbes.
